Brandi and Monica began City Dogs Rescue after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. They started a program to raise money to help animals displaced due to the storm, and fostered some Katrina dogs needing new homes. They enjoyed the experience so much they began fostering other dogs from local city shelters. They soon realized the emmense and immediate need for no-kill rescues in the DC area that can provide homeless dogs a safe place to receive medical care, socialization and training skills.  They also determined the vast amount of individuals who live in urban environments who want to own pets, but don't know the proper ways to care for animals while living in a city environment.  And so it began... City Dogs Rescue.  A cageless rescue that provides dogs and owners with the skills necessary to thrive and love in the city! We're going into our third year of operation and have changed so many lives...both furry and human!  Please visit our other pages, including some of our adopted dogs (Our Alumni)! We can only help as many dogs as we have help to do so!

There are hundreds of dogs in need in the metropolitan DC area that need your help.

Dogs dying in dog fighting rings

Dogs being sold to medical laboratories

Dogs given up to public shelters that euthanize when over-crowded

There is a way for you to help, even if you don't know it!

Can't have a dog in your apartment? Volunteer to take a rescue dog to the vet!

Allergic to animals? Host a dinner party with your friends and request kibble or monetary donations!

Free time only late night? Help from home using your computer, etc!
