We are in immediate need for large dog crates - wire or plastic.

City Dogs Rescue is in need of dry kibble for puppies.

We can accept open bags as long as the food is still in good condition and not expired.

City Dogs Rescue (CDR) is a no-kill, cageless facility that serves to help place homeless dogs into forever, loving homes. We are staffed 24 hours a day, and our dogs, run, jump and play to their hearts content! We provide our dogs with all the love and care they need to succeed as great pets for new, loving owners. Our adoption process is professional and thorough, as we seek to match dogs and owners for optimal success.

CDR adopts only to residents in the Metro DC area.

KINGSTON *****AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!*****

Kingston is a young (2-3 year old) male short-hair English Pointer mix. He's a good medium sized dog (approx. 40lbs). He's housetrained, very calm and quiet. He's not a chewer and great on leash. Kingston is quite the socialite with his foster family and loves house guests, but he's a "people" dog and tends to be afraid of other dogs (probably cats as well). He's cuddly and loves to nuzzle his head against you, but will give you space when he is told. He'd be a great dog for a first time dog owner and will make a great companion! He's had a rough life before coming to us and needs a friendly hand to show him some love! Kingston's adoption fee is $175 and includes his neutering operation, required shots and more.

RED *****AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!*****

Red is a GORGEOUS purebred Doberman Pincher. This super sweet boy is 4.5 years old and completely housetrained. Red is a fantastic dog who loves going to the park, running around and exploring. He especially loves playing with other dogs, but has not yet been tested around cats. He would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of exercise and lots of playtime. Red is so smart and agile that we are teaching him how to swim! This cuddle bug is very sweet and gentle, and likes to lounge around and if he could, he'd be a lap dog for more cuddling! Red is neutered, up to date on all shots, healthy and happy. Red's adoption fee is $200 and includes his recent neutering operation, required shots and more!

Faris is a 16 week old male Cattle Dog / JRT mix puppy. He is a brother of Fancy, Felix and Finley. Faris is a smart, happy little guy who needs a loving hand to show him big city life isn't so bad! Faris isn't yet housetrained, but he's a quick learner. Please carefully review our adoption requirements prior to contacting us about setting up a visitation appointment. Faris' adoption fee is $285 and includes his age appropriate shots, neutering operation and more.

Finley is a 16 week old male Cattle Dog / JRT mix puppy. He is a brother of Fancy, Felix and Faris. Finley is sweet and cuddly and likes to run and play. Frosty is a GORGEOUS 2.5 year old male purebred Siberian Husky. He is housetrained and knows basic commands. This handsome guy would make a great addition to a home that has always wanted to have huskies but has never owned the breed. Frosty gets along with cats, but will occassionally chase them. Frosty gets along with other dogs. He has lived and loved children of all ages, but does better with children over the age of 5. Frosty is neutered, up to date on his shots and healthy. Frosty's adoption fee is $175.
